US reluctance, main problem in lifting anti-Iran sanctions

Referring to the efforts of Ali Bagheri and the Iranian negotiating team, Mohsen Pakaein told IRNA: “The Iranian negotiating team has made a good effort to conclude the talks and is smart, courageous in negotiating the realization of the inalienable rights of the Iranian people, which is the lifting of sanctions.”

He continued: “Currently, the main problem of the negotiations is still the United States, which has not yet made its political decision to return to the resolution 2231 UN Security Council and lift the sanctions, as Iran intends, and also to provide the necessary guarantees, and seems to have a strong incentive for sanctions.

The former ambassador of Iran to the Republic of Azerbaijan said that the 13th government’s approach to solving the problem of sanctions is twofold. In the first place, the neutralization of sanctions means that the economy is strengthened and that we can create economic developments within the country, especially in the field of production and export of oil and non-oil goods.

He added: “Also, find, experience and implement various strategies to return the income from these activities to Iran.” In fact, the main solution is to neutralize the sanctions and that even if some countries want to sanction us in the future, their efforts will not succeed.

“The second vision of the 13th government is the lifting of sanctions through Vienna meeting” he said. But our priority is to neutralize the sanctions, and in this direction, the efforts of the 13th government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are pursued in order to ensure Iran’s national interests.
