Iran warns against false propaganda about security, ships’ incidents

Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh here on Tuesday reacted to certain news about a series of security incidents for the ships in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman and warned that any false propagation serves certain political intentions.

He described them as quite suspicious and emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran’s basic policy is to establish stability and security in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.

He reiterated that the Iranian naval forces are ready to assist the passing ships in the region in case they broadcast SOS messages.

Even if the commercial ships’ radars and navigation systems face any difficulties, the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to assist surveying and resolving the problem at the place, added Khatibzadeh.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman meanwhile announced the Islamic Republic of Iran’s readiness for close cooperation with regional counties in such respects.
