Iran ranks 5th in Hungary Cadet World Wrestling

 Iranian National Youth Greco Roman Team gained two silver and a bronze medal in 2121 Hungary Cadet World Wrestling ending up 5th in the international competition in Budapest on Saturday.

According to IRNA, the Iranian young wrestlers in the Hungary Cadet World Wrestling which began on Friday July 23 and ended on Sunday July 25 included Seyyed Hostafa Rezaie and Ali Reza Abdoli at 60 and 71-kilogram weighs, who both gained silver medals, and Ali Jalali Abdolvand in 92-kilogram weigh who gained the bronze.

Iran’s other athlete, Ali Ahmadivafa ranked 5th at his 45-kilogram weigh class.

At the end of the international games the Georgian, Ukrainian and Russian teams with 141, 127 and 124 points ranked first to third respectively, and the Iranian team that had gained 81 points ranked fifth.

The ten participating teams’ ranks and points in descending order in those games were as follows:

1. Georgia: 141 pts; 2. Ukraine: 127 pts; 3. Russia: 124 pts; 4. Kyrgyzstan: 87 pts; 5. Iran: 81 pts; 6. Azerbaijan: 70 pts; 7: Kazakhstan: 67 pts; 8. Turkey: 62 pts; 9. USA: 56 pts; and 10. India: 54 pts.

The Cadet World Championships is a tournament where the best Greco-Roman, Freestyle wrestlers worldwide below the age of 17 compete.
