Senior official: Balanced foreign policy with East, West on new Gov’t agenda

Advisor to Iranian parliament speaker Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in an Instagram post that based on the principles expressed by the President-elect Ebrahim Raisi Iran’s next government will pursue a balanced foreign policy and have active and dynamic relations with East and West as a priority.

Amir-Abdollahian said following specialized policies toward all neighbors and Asia is a priority for the new government’s foreign policy.

During his first press conference on June 21 following his victory in the election, Ebrahim Raisi said his government will support any negotiation which will ensure the interests of the Iranian nation.

The foreign policy of the new Iranian government will neither begin with nor be limited to negotiations over the revival of a 2015 Iran nuclear deal (known as JCPOA), he said.

We will pursue engagement with all countries of the world as a principle and a broad and balanced interaction in foreign policy, he added.

Raisi was announced the winner of the June 18 presidential election in Iran, scoring 17,926,345 of votes.
