Javanmardi beat her Turkish rival in the final in P2-Women’s 10m Air Pistol on Saturday.
She secured 236.8 scores and was crowned champion.
The gold she won is the first gold medal secured by the Iranian athletes taking part in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games that are held from August 28 to September 8.
This was the 4th gold of Sara Javanmardi and her 5th medal in the Paralympic Games. Jawanmardi won a bronze medal in the 2012 London Paralympics, two gold medals in Rio 2016 in individual and mixed, and a gold medal in Tokyo 2020.
Also, this was the first gold of the Iranian caravan in the Paris Paralympic Games.
In this competition, Aysel Ozjan won silver and Rubina Francis from India came third.
Nasreen Shahi was Iran’s other representative in this subject, who despite advancing to the final was disqualified due to the failure of the weapon test and was removed from the competition table.
