Iran, who had lost to India 3-1 in its opening match, defeated Sri Lanka 3-2 in the second match.
Iran’s national team defeated their opponents 3-2 with scores of 25-20, 25-12, 22-25, 13-25, and 15-11 and achieved their first win.
The Iranian team has participated in these competitions under the guidance of Korean head coach Lee Do-hye.
The competition kicked off at the National Sports Council in Kathmandu, Nepal, on August 1.
Five countries, including host Nepal, India, the Maldives, Sri Lanka, and Iran, compete for the trophy.
The top four teams will advance into the semi-finals, slated for August 6.
The group winner of the single-round league will take on the fourth-placed team, while the group-runner will lock horns with the third-placed team in the last four clashes.
The final and the third-place playoff will be held on August 7.
The event is co-hosted by Nepal and the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA).
