Independence-seeking common spirit of Iranian, Vietnamese nations: Raisi

“The spirit of independence and seeking rights are the common feature of the Iranian and Vietnamese nations,” President Raisi said in his meeting with chairman of Vietnam’s National Assembly.

Referring to Iran’s great progress in various scientific, technological, production and industrial sectors despite threats and pressures and the great steps taken by the Iranian nation to neutralize these sanctions by focusing on the growth of production and trade, President Raisi said that the visit of the Vietnamese parliament speaker to Iran can be on the development of parliamentary relations and a turning point in the development of economic and commercial relations between the two countries.

President Raisi deemed the development of relations between the two countries as important at regional and international levels and clarified that the development of relations between the two countries may not be pleasant for some governments, but what is important is effective measures to secure the interests of the two countries and the two nations.

Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam also conveyed the warm greetings of the President and Prime Minister of Vietnam to President Raisi, and described the great achievements of the Iranian nation as admirable and inspiring for the Vietnamese nation despite the brutal sanctions of the West.

“Vietnam is interested in developing all-round interactions and cooperation with Iran and upgrading these relations to the level of regional and international cooperation,” he added.

Vương Đình Huệ said that half a century of good relations between the two countries is a suitable ground for setting goals and planning for 50 years of better relations in the future.

He expressed hope that the visit of the Islamic President of Iran to Vietnam will speed up the drawing of a roadmap for long-term and 50-year cooperation.

The visit of the speaker of the Vietnamese parliament to Iran after 24 years, in response to the visit of his Iranian counterpart in 2018 and on the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, was a turning point in the relations between the two countries.
