— Iran produces over 44m tons of steel in 10 months
Iranian steelmakers produced more than 44.5 million tons of steel and steel products during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021-January 20, 2022), according to statistics released by the Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade.
During the said 10 months, steel plants of the country churned out over 23.46 million tons of crude steel as well as 21.08 million tons of steel products.
— Iran approves 129 FDI projects in 10 months
The Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade approved 129 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects valued at over $3.48 billion in the 10 months to January 20.
The data show 24 percent and 136 percent of rise in terms of number and value, respectively, compared to corresponding figures of preceding year which was 104 FDI projects with the total value of $1.47 billion.
— Indonesian and Taiwanese tourists visit Torbat-e Heydariyeh in NE Iran
A number of Indonesian and Taiwanese tourists, along with the cultural advisor of the Iranian Embassy in Indonesia, paid a visit to the agricultural and historical tourist attractions of Torbat-e Heydariyeh, a city in the northeastern province of Khorasan Razavi.
Announcing the above, Ali Mohammadi, head of the city’s Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Department, said that the travelers visited the city’s saffron farms and companies, Qotbeddin Heydar Shrine, Tabasi Caravanserai and Saffron Museum.

— World Congress of Arts for Muhammad (S) exhibit opens in Shiraz
An exhibition showcasing a selection of top submissions to the World Congress of Arts for Muhammad (S), the Prophet of Mercy opened on Saturday in Shiraz. The Center for Artistic Creations of Professors in Shiraz organizes the congress in collaboration with several Islamic centers to promote artworks in different media.
The exhibition underway at the branch office of the National Library and Archives of Iran in Fars Province will run until March 3.
— Foreign investment in industry, mining, trade sectors up nearly 136%
The Ministry of Industry, Mining, and Trade has approved 129 foreign investment projects valued at about $3.485 billion in the first 10 months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21, 2021-January 20, 2022), which indicates a 135.9 percent rise compared to the same period of time in the past year. The data released by the ministry show that 104 foreign investment projects valued at about $1.477 billion had been approved in the first 10 months of the previous year.
As reported, the number of the investment projects approved in the mentioned 10 months has also increased by 24 percent in comparison to the figure for the last year’s same period.

Iran must take an immense opportunity to be provided by the upcoming Qatar World Cup to properly introduce the county to the international spectators of the major event, the tourism minister has said. “A significant number of travelers, mostly young people, would arrive in Qatar to attend the World Cup… It provides an exceptional opportunity for us to properly introduce tourist attractions of the country,” Ezzatollah Zarghami said on Thursday.
“Over the past months, we have prepared some plans to arrack attendees to the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup soccer championship.”

— Iran Discusses Repatriation of Citizens From Ukraine
Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Amir-Abdollahian has told his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov over phone that he hopes the crisis in Ukraine will be settled through political channels.
Amir-Abdollahian said that efforts are underway for the repatriation of Iranian nationals living in Ukraine through neighboring countries.
“It is our serious priority to ensure security and health of Iranian citizens living in Ukraine and we expect that grounds will be prepared for their safe exit,” he added.
— Iran’s Recurve Teams Come 1st, 2nd in UAE
Iran’s men para-archery team came first in compound competitions and the Iranian women team stood third in Dubai 2022 World Archery Para Championships. Ramezan Biabani and Hadi Nouri who played as Iran’s compound men team defeated Australia 145-143 and won the gold medal, becoming the champion of the competitions.
Iran’s recurve men team, Gholamreza Rahimi and Asghar Zareinejad, defeated Turkey 5-3 in the semifinal game and will face Britain’s team on Sunday finals.
— Tehran Holds Int’l Holy Qu’ran Competition
Iran’s 38th International Holy Qu’ran Competition will be held from February 28 to March 5 at the Andisheh Hall of Hozeh Honari. The competition’s motto is “One Book, One Nation” and the courses of memorizing the whole Quran and recitation will be held in the sections of adults, women, students, and blinds.
The Head of the Quranic Affairs Center of the Endowments and Charity Affairs Organization, Hamid Majidi-Mehr, said in a press conference this morning (Saturday) that the competitions would be held in absentia due to the COVID outbreak.
