Advisor to Prime Minister of Pakistan for Commerce and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood will attend the next round of the two countries’ joint trade committee.
An official statement said on Friday that the 9th Joint Trade Committee meeting between Islamic Republic of Iran and Islamic Republic of Pakistan is scheduled to be held on 6-7 November 2021 in Tehran.
“Mr. Seyed Reza Fatemi Amin, Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade of Iran and Mr. Abdul Razak Dawood, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Commerce and Investment of Pakistan will co-chair the meeting to discuss all trade issues and progress made after the 8th meeting held in 2019 in Islamabad. An MoU on exhibition cooperation will also be signed between the two countries,” the statement said.
Officials from Ministry of Commerce, Pakistan Customs, Govt of Balochistan and Presidents of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industry are accompanying the Advisor for the meeting.
Both sides will discuss barter trade, cooperation in transportation, Free Trade Agreement, construction of border markets and other issues affecting bilateral trade.
Advisor will also call on Minister of Road and Urban Development of Iran and Minister of Agriculture of Iran.
Meeting of the heads of Iran and Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and is also scheduled during the visit, at Iranian Chamber of Commerce and trade unions.
Advisor Abdul Razzak Dawood met with Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday and apprised him about his visit to Iran and its role in improving prospects of regional connectivity and bilateral trade between the two countries.
The eighth meeting of the Pak-Iran Joint Trade Committee was held in 2019 in Islamabad.
