NAKHOST NEWS – Speaking at the meeting of the National Task Force Against Coronavirus before noon on Saturday, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi emphasized that unfortunately the situation of the outbreak of coronavirus in the country is not acceptable, saying, “Although I should appreciate the jihadist efforts of medical staff and all people involved, but the reports received and the observations of me and the Minister of Health indicate that the outbreak situation is not good at all”.
President Raisi added, “People’s business should not be closed, but it is necessary to take immediate measures to prevent gatherings, as well as travel and activities in crowded centres such as restaurants, halls, shopping centres, indoor markets and the like”.
He said, “The armed forces and all other institutions should mobilize their facilities so that no COVID patient in any part of the country who needs to be hospitalized does not wander around because of the lack of beds”.
Emphasizing that the only accepted authority for approving the COVID-19 vaccine is the Ministry of Health, the President said, “The government believes that the responsibility for approving the validity and authenticity of the vaccine lies solely with the Ministry of Health and the import of vaccines should be done under the supervision of this ministry”.
President Raisi further said, “The production of vaccine in the country should be seriously pursued and all necessary measures should be provided to accelerate and increase the production of domestic vaccines”.
In another part of his speech, the President stated that the imposition of restrictions and prohibitions on unnecessary traffic should not be conditional on the announcement of a holiday.
In another part of his speech about the beginning of the school year, Dr. Raisi said, “The necessary decisions should be taken and implemented in this regard after making the necessary arrangements, including health measures and convincing families”.
He went on to say that decentralization and delegation of powers to the provinces is one of the definitive policies of the 13th government, noting, “We also welcome the delegation of authority to the provincial headquarters in the fight against the spread of coronavirus”.
The President appreciated the establishment of a special staff at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to expedite the import of vaccines and stated, “Work and redoubled efforts to protect the lives of the people is the most central issue for all of us”.
