Iranian newly-elected President Ebrahim Raisi on Sunday described public vaccination against COVID-19 as an unavoidable necessity.
The President made the remarks after receiving the first dose of the Iran-made vaccine, noting that the vaccination is a priority for the incumbent administration.
He thanked all the medical staff for their efforts during the combat against the coronavirus.
Raisi called on Iranians to observe the health instructions, adding that the officials should strive to provide the requirements and grounds for the full implementation of the guidelines.
He expressed concern over the rising cases in Iran.
The number of deaths from the coronavirus pandemic in Iran increased to 94,015 with 542 more Iranians killed by the deadly disease over the past 24 hours, Iran’s Health Ministry said on Sunday.
