Pakistani Senate Chairman leaves for Iran to attend Raisi’s inauguration

Chairman of Pakistan’s Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani left for Tehran on Wednesday on a two-day visit to attend the inauguration ceremony of new Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi.

The inauguration ceremony of President Ebrahim Raisi will be held on Thursday, July 5, at the Iranian Parliament.

According to an official statement, Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan has designated Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjhrani to represent Pakistan at the inauguration ceremony of the new President of Iran.

The Chairman of Senate will reach Mashad on a special plane. During the visit high-level meetings with top political leaders are expected.

The Chairman Senate will return to Pakistan on August 5, 2021

Yesterday, the endorsement ceremony for the 13th President of the Islamic Republic of Iran was held in Imam Khomeini’s Hussainiyah in the presence of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and a number of the country’s officials. The president-elect was appointed the President of Iran by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution.

Last week, Chairman of Pakistan’s Senate, during a meeting with Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan, Mohammad Ali Hosseini said that his visit to Tehran is a big step towards strengthening friendly relations between the two countries.
