Iranian Greco-Roman wrestler Mohammad-Hadi Saravi defeated a Finnish rival 9-2 in the third-place game to win the bronze medal of the 97-kg weight category of the Tokyo Olympic Games.
Saravi’s medal was the first wrestling medal of the Iranian squad at the competitions.
Saravi defeated rivals from Algeria and Bulgaria on his way to the quarterfinals where he lost the game 4-1 to an Armenian rival and went to the third-place game to fight for the bronze medal.
