Iran’s top chess master Mohammad Amin Tabatabaie beating his Armenian competitor in Chess World Cup 2021, is now among the world’s top eight best players.
The event which started on July 12 will end on August 6 in Sochi, Russia.
Earlier, in the first round of the 5th stage of the games, Tabatabaie got defeated by the same Armenian player, Haik Mikaeli Martirosyan, but last night in a tough game defeated him, thus pushing organizers arrange for complementary games.
The Iranian grand master, in the first round of the complementary games in rapid chess category won the match 1.5 to 0.5 and got the green light for entering the next round among the world’s top eight best players.
After this victory Mohammad Amin must face Russia’s top master Vladimir Vasilyevich Fedoseev.
