Top military Aide to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi underlined the necessity for Iran to further develop ties and cooperation with the Eastern states to increase exports.
“In terms of foreign policy, if we look to the East, India, China, Japan, Indonesia and Malaysia, as well as Russia, 73% of which is in Asia and 27% of which is in Europe, and look at the neighbors and use the very high capacity of Iran’s geopolitical and geographical position for exports, we can find the key to Iran’s economic path for export of Iranian products and also for re-export by using the country’s location as the crossroad to 15 states in Northern Iran and even to Europe via the Mediterranean and Asia,” Rahim Safavi said on Wednesday.
He added that the 25-year comprehensive cooperation agreement between Iran and China signed in March is a way to increase cooperation and exports to the East.
In 2015, the Islamic Republic of Iran and China issued a joint comprehensive strategic statement between the two countries, and the two sides agreed to conclude a comprehensive cooperation document.
