Urmia, Tashkent Universities sign MoU

President of Urmia University said that at a virtual meeting with Tashkent University, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) has been signed on farming Artemia, an aquatic crustaceans living in Lake Urmia.

Rahim Hobbe Naqi said to IRNA on Saturday that in this virtual meeting, some economic and university officials took part.

Referring to the point that in this meeting, the two sides called for expanding bilateral ties, he said that Urmia University is interested in expanding its scholarly and academic relationships with universities in the world, including the universities of the Commonwealth and the Caucasus countries.

Explaining the scientific achievements of the university in regarding Artemia in cooperation with Kazakh and Russian universities, the head of Urmia University said there an opportunity is now to have joint efforts with Uzbekistan.

The achievements of this agreement will be announced too, he continued.

Artemia is a genus of aquatic crustaceans also known as brine shrimp
