Iranian shooter Javad Foroughi won the first gold medal for Iran’s squad in Tokyo Olympic games by defeating all his rivals in men’s air pistol field.
Foroughi managed to receive 244.8 scores in the category men’s 10m air pistol and conquered the first place, winning the first gold medal for Iran in Tokyo Olympics and also the first gold medal for Iran’s shooting sports.
Foroughi who is from Ilam province in west Iran, defeated rivals from China, Ukraine, Serbia, Germany, India and South Korea in the final round.
Sport shooters from Serbia and India, respectively took their second and third places, with 237.9 and 217.6 scores.
With Foroughi’s gold, shooting became the fifth Olympics gold winner sport field in Iran.
