Iranian sport officials arrive in Tokyo for talks with counterparts

Top Iranian sport officials arrived in Tokyo on Wednesday for talks with their counterparts from other world countries on the sidelines of the 32nd edition of Olympic Games.

Upon arrival in Tokyo, Iran’s Minister of Sport and Youth Masoud Soltanifar and the Head of the National Olympics Committee Reza Salehi Amiri were accorded welcome by Iran’s ambassador to Japan Morteza Rahmani Movahhed.

Tokyo Olympic Games, which were due on 2020, were postponed for a year due to the global outbreak of COVID-19.

The games are scheduled to begin in the Japanese capital on July 23.

Some 66 Iranian athletes will represent Iran in the competitions in different sport fields.
