The first squad of Iran’s Olympian athletes left for Tokyo on Saturday while seven days are left to the postponed 2020 Olympic Games.
Iran’s sports officials attended a ceremony held in Imam Khomeini International Airport in Tehran, Iran’s capital to convoy Iranian Olympians.
The first group of Iran’s Olympians included athletes from the fields of Ping-Pong (1 person), Archery (1 person), Taekwondo (1 person), and Volleyball (12 people).
Previously, a group of Iran’s Olympic squad’s supervision staff went to Tokyo on July 11.
68 athletes from Iran in 16 sports fields have qualified for Tokyo Olympics, but 66 athletes could finally be prepared to attend the competitions.
