Iran’s Zanjan province and the neighboring country of Armenia plan to boost trade relations as part of development of bilateral ties between the two countries, a provincial official says.
Chairman of Zanjan Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture Ali Yeganefard told reporters on Thursday night that Armenian Ambassador to Tehran Artashes Toumanian is going to visit Zanjan province.
Yeganefard said that the ambassador is scheduled to visit Zanjan in a one-day trip in mid-July to evaluate trade and economic capacities of the province.
According to the provincial official, different programs will be held during the trip, including a meeting with economic and private sector activists, in order to pave the way for expansion of ties with Armenia and other countries in Caucasus area.
The visit will be held in line with executing a roadmap for Zanjan province’s foreign trade and bolstering bilateral trade ties between Armenia and Zanjan, he added.
The two sides are going to hold talks on expanding trade exchanges, dispatching trade delegations, inspecting economic capacities, he noted.
Zanjan Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture plans to dispatch a trade and economic delegation to Armenia in the near future, the official went on to say.
